Terms and Conditions for Road Freight Services - Grupo Linc
1. General Information
The details in this quote are based on information provided by the client, and any variations may affect the quoted price. It does not apply to hazardous, perishable, or oversized cargo unless otherwise specified.
2. Rates and Additional Charges

VAT: All rates are subject to VAT at the destination.

Coverage: FTL and LTL rates cover delivery to main cities and customs warehouses at the destination, if applicable. They do not include handling fees, storage, or third-party payments at the destination.
3. Exclusions
The following services and additional costs are excluded from the rate:

Customs clearance

Cargo security services

Loading or unloading at the exporter’s facilities

Export or import permits, such as Technical Notes and DucaT

Taxes, port surcharges, inspections, storage, packaging, fumigation, or packaging repair

Hazardous cargo labels and handling
Extraordinary services or overtime handling
4. Transit Times and Routes
Scheduled routes and estimated transit times are subject to changes due to circumstances like customs clearance delays, roadblocks, inspections, port congestion, and weather conditions.
5. Cargo Insurance
Cargo insurance is recommended for security. Without insurance, the client assumes full responsibility for any unforeseen issues. Insurance is offered at 0.8% on C&F + 10%, with a minimum charge of $80 (subject to VAT).
6. Customs Regulations
Shippers and consignees must comply with customs regulations in each country to avoid delays and additional costs. The maximum permitted weight is 20,000 kg, in line with Central American legislation.
7. Special Conditions by Cargo Type
For shipments of food, human consumption products, alcoholic beverages, veterinary, phytosanitary, and other products, prior acceptance is required at origin and destination. Compatibility of animal or plant-based products with human consumption goods must be verified.
8. Delays and Penalties
For import and export operations, one day is assigned for loading, one for unloading, and two days for tax clearance at the border (Monday to Saturday). A detention charge of $125 per day will apply after this period.
9. Validity and Acceptance
By accepting this quote, the client confirms they have read and agree to these terms and conditions. In Guatemala, the rate excludes 12% VAT, 3% Collect Fee, and 5% withholding tax.
